From the top station of the Bettmeralp cable car you walk eastwards through the village to Hotel Aletsch: Here is the start of the Helsana Swiss Running Walking Trail. First, follow the fairly flat path past Rope Park Baschweri to Martisbergeralp. After about 30 minutes of walking, the path takes a 180° turn back west. After a slight ascent, it levels off again and you now walk towards Alte Stafel. This is followed by another slight ascent up to Bettmersee. Above the idyllic lake, the Nordic Walking route now goes down via Gopplerlücke to Golmenegg, from where you walk along the Aletsch promenade (paved road) back to Bettmeralp and to the starting point at Hotel Aletsch.
