From Riederalp Mitte, walk eastwards on the Aletschpromenade up to the height of Golmenegg. There you follow the winter hiking trail branching off towards the valley side. Past the St. Bernhard chapel and beautiful, old Valais houses, you now hike through a bright forest landscape over Biel and Flesch towards the east. After a short ascent, you reach the height of the Restaurant Adler and return to the Aletschpromenade. From here, you hike westwards back to Riederalp.

- Plan every mountain tour carefully and adapt it to your own conditions, the weather, and the time of year.
- The weather can change rapidly in the mountains. Therefore, take suitable clothing and enough provisions and water. Turn back in time if the weather is uncertain.
- Inform third parties about the tour and, if possible, never go alone.
- Do not leave marked paths and do not enter glaciers without a mountain guide.
- Walking on ski slopes is prohibited.
- Be considerate of other hikers as well as plants and animals.
- In any case, inform yourself about the local avalanche situation
Note(s)
Due to altitude and route, good footwear is absolutely essential for this winter hike.
Our recommendation:
- Winter, hiking, or trekking shoes with good tread
- Possibly hiking poles
- Warm winter clothing adapted to the weather
- Special recommendation: crampons or SnowSpikes
