Stone on Stone - Dry Stone Walls Theme Route

Originally built as boundaries for pastures, support walls, or avalanche protection, dry stone walls are today an important part of ecological infrastructure and a valuable cultural heritage in the region. The route takes you from Riederalp to Bettmeralp where you can not only enjoy breathtaking views but also discover fascinating information about the historical and modern significance of dry stone walls. With the help of QR codes, you get interesting insights into various wall objects and learn more about the craftsmanship of wall building. Embark on this journey and experience firsthand how this living tradition is preserved and passed on.

The theme route is also walkable from Bettmeralp to Riederalp.
