The snowshoe hike begins on the valley floor in Fiesch. The path winds in tight switchbacks through the snowy forest up to the Fiescherstafel. The beautifully located, idyllic hamlet invites you to a well-deserved rest with a wonderful view after the ascent, which requires stamina. From here you leave the forest behind. Parallel to the Heimatt slope, the snowshoe tour continues uphill over open terrain to the destination of the route on the Fiescheralp.

Carry a map with you. Download the full description of the hiking trail including a large-scale map by clicking "Print" at the top right of the page.
Use only marked hiking trails and follow all signposts and instructions – for your own safety, to protect livestock, and without disturbing the calm of wildlife.
Behave considerately towards other trail users and the landscape. Take your rubbish and the rubbish of others with you.
Carry additional sunscreen. UV rays at high altitudes can be particularly strong in winter, even in cloudy weather.
Plan your hike carefully: take into account the required fitness of all participants, weather forecasts and seasonal dependencies.
Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing and sufficient provisions (food and drink) are very important. In case of unstable weather, it is better to turn back early.
Do not venture onto glaciers without a mountain guide.
Observe warning signals indicating dangers, especially avalanche risk.
Inform third parties about your route and if possible, never go alone.

Due to the altitude and route, good footwear is absolutely necessary for this winter hike.
